Jenifer was the recipient of the computer donated by the guests of the Jon’s for the highest marks and best attitude at Casa Para Ninos del Pacífico. She graduates from Grade 6 this year and will start Secondary in August.
The letter that tugged the most in my heart was from Axel which just wanted to have a belt to hold up his pants. The first shipment of school shoes arrived. We ordered them wholesale from the factory in Leon. Leather shoes for an average cost of 120 pesos or $7.00 US.
They will be included in the backpacks that the kids will receive for Christmas unless, of course, a child needs them sooner. Just one more thing we do for our bright young scholars at Casa Para Niños del Pacifico. No wonder they are so motivated to maintain high marks.
The children at Casa Para Niños all sang happy birthday to me in ENGLISH when I arrived to drop off supplies for the lunch program.
The children who attend in the morning receive breakfast and their main meal for the day, the afternoon children have their main meal and a snack. Hungry children can´t learn.
