The secondary students at España will be very surprised to see a brand new covered cancha and two refurbished classrooms including new roofs when they return to class. They won´t be getting wet at least while class is in session! Another successful collaboration between Por Los Niños, the City of Zihuatanejo and the parents´ committee.
Thanks so much for the support in buying a transformer for the Escuela Secundaria Tec. 219 in Los Almendros, Guerrero, Mexico.
Leonel Rosas Maciel
Por Los Niños provided a new transformer so the school would have enough power to support its new air-conditioned computer room. They lost everything when the previous one exploded but thanks to some generous community members and the parents´ committee the school has been rewired with new fans and air-conditioning all with 10 shiny new computers. Another successful partnership project.

We recycle everything! About 12 years ago Por Los Ninos built a little school in what was then rural Playa Blanca, not so rural now.
The school is not used anymore and we just authorized a change of use to the landowners and it is now the new home of Amigos de Animales Education Center.
Sunday night they advertised their summer camp, Monday 30 kids were signed up! No child will be turned away, the camp will run until school starts Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day. The kids are excited, they don’t have to play in the streets for entertainment!
Another new classroom for the Telesecundaria in Colonia Aeropuerto. Another partnership project between Por Los Niños and our City Hall.
I want to comment that a month ago I started my clinical practice in the health center Coacoyul and I feel very happy because in the wake of this year and these practicums I’m learning a lot. For all this, I thank you, because I know you are doing so much. … always, always be grateful to you because I know no one else would help as many people you are doing.
You are a great person and have great value to humanity, and above all a great heart. I’m looking forward to whatever comes next. I believe this is what inspires me to keep going, I do not give up so easy, thank you and my sponsors that I am where I am.
This month I have been in the health center and have learned to measure, weigh, take vital signs, do injections, to vaccinate infants and children, to perform cures, to make Pap tests, order and document, HIV testing and Syphilis, glucose uptake, etc. I am very happy with the result yet I know that I still have much more to learn.
Special thanks to the Play Leaders at George Jay Elementary School in Victoria, BC Canada for their fundraising efforts to help the students of Zihuatanejo. I suspect Tanya Harrison had a hand in this! Thanks so much for your support.
