In partnership with the City of Zihuatanejo, International & local Rotary Clubs, Los Niños, Inc., Concreto El Hujal, Niños Adelante & school parents, Sailfest/Por Los Niños de Zihuatanejo completed these 2016 projects.

Construction – $1,265,322. Pesos

Colegio de Bachilleries de Zihuatanejo. New high school w/ 6 classrooms including air-conditioned computer room, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and covered lunch area.

Primaria Centenario de la Revoluciòn, Col. La Joya. Classroom improvements, air-conditioned computer room & secure entry gates.

Jardín de Niños Francisco Gonzalez Izazaga, Col. Lomas de Sotelo. New kitchen & lunch área.

Jardín de Niños 24 de Febrero, Col. Buenas Aires. New classroom.

Jardín de Niños Nueva Creacion, Col. El Progreso. New classroom.

Scholarships – $142,200. Pesos

Awarded 52 English language scholarships to teachers, 45 English language scholarships to Niños Adelante students & 47 Hospitality English scholarships for parents in partnership with Rotary Clubs.

Nutrition Program – $226,500. pesos

Carol’s “Beans & Rice” nutrition program provided 35,000+ meals to low income primary school students in partnership with Los Niños, Inc., our U.S. sister foundation.

General Purpose Grants – $484,770. Pesos

23 computers w/accessories, 150 English text books, 150 bilingual dictionaries, kitchen equipment & classroom furnishings in partnership with Rotary Clubs. Classroom repairs at several schools.

Operating Expenses – $14,420. Pesos

Office equipment, printing & website hosting. All other material & labor expenses are donated by our Sailfest/Por Los Niños volunteers.
