Sailfest Wrap up. A good crowd ….delicious food. Lots of thank you..s. Carol presented Major Jorge Sanchez and his wife Lizette with a painting she did of a little boy that was a victim of the fire on the hillside on the 24th of Dec….sob…sob!!! Cruisers estimate is over 600,000 pesos in sunset, music, Rally and sail parade events to add to our overall total of over 2,000,000 pesos …which will exceed last year total!!! Well done everyone!!!!!

As of today Sailfest raised 2,090,226. pesos and there is still more coming in!

Thanks to the City of Zihua and Carol the venue for the Gala Dinner was impressive. Food was donated by Hotels Barcelo, Pacifica, Sunscape, Krystal, Gemme and Isle de Ixtapa – Restaurants El Marlin, El Dorado, Las 3 Sirenas and Paraiso Escondido and Chez Leo. Entertainment was provided by a Mariachi band, and the Guerrero dance group. The night finished off with an Art Auction and a draw for two vacation door prizes.

Sailfest Chili Cookoff and Street fair and Silent Auction. A gazillion people and not enough chili made for long lineups to get a taste of some great chili. What was there was delicious and we thank those who participated. Please think about adding your “To die for Chili” next year to make this even a greater success. Over 19,000 pesos were raised…all for the children!! First place winner Gina Gass, Second Ellen Anderson, and Third Linda & Gord Coker. Peoples choice, was Gringo Gordo again this year! Congrats to all. Thank you.

Great music, great participation and great fun!
